The
Sailclean service is now fully set-up and although the processing can
be done quickly the volume of work requires some scheduling.
FAST CLEAN
Our FAST CLEAN Service is ideal for customers wanting their sails washed and returned to them as quickly as possible.Althoe our cleaning process will dry your sail quite considerably , the thicker areas of the sail may still be damp.If you intend to return your sail to the boat when you receive it from us , these damp areas will not be a problem. A 2-3 hour FAST CLEAN SERVICE may be available to personal customers but this would be strictly by prior arrangement.
CLEAN AND DRY
For customers wanting their sails fully washed and dried for long-term storage , NEP Sailclean can thoroughly dry your sail before returning it to you.Your sail will be hung in our warm drying area for two or three days until we are satisfied that it is completely dry.
A 2-3 Day CLEAN AND DRY SERVICE may be available to personal customers but this would be strictly by prior arrangement.
Things you should know before sending your sail to NEP Sailclean...
We can handle, either mains or head sails, up to a foot length of 5 meters.
Sails with a larger foot length could possibly be washed but this would involve introducing a crease which may not be advisable, especially with laminated sail materials.(mylar etc.) Sail Luff length should not be an issue and we regularly wash to lengths of 22 meters - with capacity to spare.
Rip-Stop Nylon Sails are not suitable for our machine.Spinnaker Sails are not suitable for our machine.
Sails pass through the machine flat - so heavily cambered off-wind chutes, trisails etc. - we do not handle.
Shaped canopies are not suitable - but dodgers can be washed.
Sails will be returned packed as we receive them, i.e.-boxed, bagged, folded or rolled.
Laminated sails delivered to us rolled will be returned also rolled. NEP Sailclean appreciates the special care that Laminated Sails require.
All loose fittings should be removed.
Sails should be stripped of all removable fittings - battens etc. Note fully-battened mains should have the slider removed.Tell-tales have so far not been affected by the process.
A check should be made by the customer that logos and sail numbers are properly attached.
If properly attached these self adhesive numbers and go faster stripes do not come off during washing.Our machine subjects sails to less demands than a normal full sail breeze or normal flogging during reefing. However...NEP Sailclean cannot accept responsibility for any self adhesive items becoming loose during the washing process.
